Every year, countless individuals and families face challenges that seem overwhelming. The need for community support and generosity grows stronger as more people seek help. On December 13th, 2025, the Charleston Southern Brewer Center will open its doors for a special event dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. This gathering is more than just another giveaway —it is a chance to come together, share hope, and build a stronger community.

Why This Event Matters
For many children in foster care, the holidays aren’t filled with excitement—they’re filled with uncertainty. Families are navigating sudden placements, limited resources, and emotional transitions. Children are carrying trauma, loss, and questions no child should have to face.
The Closet of Hope Holiday Workshop exists to change that.
This event gives children in foster care something many of them have never truly experienced:
✨ A Christmas that feels joyful, intentional, and full of care.
Every gift, every sponsor, every volunteer helps us:
Restore dignity to children who often feel forgotten
Lift the burden from foster and kinship families already stretched thin
Create moments of joy for kids navigating incredibly hard circumstances
Show children they are seen, valued, and celebrated
Build connection in a community where caregivers often feel alone
When you give to the Holiday Workshop, you’re not just donating a toy. You’re giving a child:
🎁 A reminder that their wishes matter
🎄 A moment of magic in a difficult journey
💛 A memory that says “You are loved and you are worth showing up for”
This is more than a holiday event. It is a lifeline of hope—wrapped in kindness, delivered with dignity, and remembered long after the season ends.
This matters because they matter.
And together, we can make sure every child feels it.

How You Can Help
Our Holiday Workshop is only possible because of generous people like you. Every act of kindness—big or small—directly impacts children and families navigating the challenges of foster care. Here are meaningful ways you can be part of the hope:
🎁 Sponsor a Child’s Wishlist
Choose a child’s Amazon wishlist and shop directly from it, or purchase similar items locally. Every gift helps a child feel seen, valued, and remembered during a season that can be especially difficult.
📦 Donate New Gift Items
Can’t commit to a full wishlist? No problem. You can still make a big difference by donating individual items like toys, books, winter clothing, hygiene items, or gift cards.
🛒 Shop Our Amazon Wishlist
Our Amazon Wishlist makes giving easy—pick an item, click, and ship directly to Closet of Hope. Every item listed supports a foster child or the caregivers who love them.
⏱️ Volunteer Your Time
From sorting donations to helping families during their appointments, volunteers are the heartbeat of this event. A few hours of your time brings joy, warmth, and dignity to families who need it most.
💛 Spread the Word
Sharing our posts, inviting friends to get involved, or telling your workplace or church about the Holiday Workshop amplifies our reach and helps us support even more children.
The Power of Community Support
The heart of Closet of Hope has always been community. Every toy donated, every wishlist sponsored, every hour volunteered—together, they create something bigger than any one of us could accomplish alone.
When children enter foster care, they often lose more than belongings—they lose familiarity, stability, and sometimes even hope. But community support steps in to rebuild what trauma has taken away. It reminds kids that they matter. It reassures caregivers that they’re not carrying the load by themselves. And it transforms stressful seasons into moments of joy, dignity, and connection.
Your generosity—whether through gifts, time, or sharing our mission—creates real change. It turns a simple toy into a message of love. It turns a volunteer shift into a lifeline. It turns a holiday event into a reminder that hope still shows up, wrapped in community.
This is the power of people coming together.
This is the power of compassion in action.
This is the power of community.
Your presence and support on December 13th will help create a ripple effect of kindness that reaches far beyond the walls of the Charleston Southern Brewer Center. Join us in making a difference that lasts.
